Snivy - practice

I'm just doing this for a bit of practice because I'm long over-due. I was using another piece of art as reference and tried to match the orientation and... well, whatever...

I'm so bad at this it makes me want to cry.

I'm only posting it so people might have some real pointers for me. ANYTHING! Seriously... I left my hand in to give you the idea of the scale I was going for. I figured it might be a little easier if I went for a bigger scale. Good idea or bad idea?

This is going to be scrapped by the way. Here's a link to the original artist on another site. [link] It's a little naughty but only if you're registered and have the naughty bits registered. So it's safe.

If you are willing to help me out a little I'll be happy to scan this in at full resolution if you can give me some REAL, HONEST pointers. PLEASE! I'm kinda desperate.
